This is a great, lipid-rich rejuvenating cream for dry skin. It contains retinaldehyde, the direct precursor of prescription-only anti-ageing 'gold-standard' tretinoin. As with any high-strength vitamin A derivative, this cream should be introduced gradually and can be alternated with a simple moisturiser, if needed.
Suitable for dry skin.
Oily and combination skin types should avoid this.
.
How to use:
-
Apply to face, neck and chest each evening, as tolerated
-
Use after cleansing (e.g. with SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser)
-
May be preceeded by SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel, if additional moisture is needed
-
Don't forget that you need a good antioxidant serum, such as SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, and sun protection such as SkinCeuticals Sun Defense SPF 20 in the morning
.
Benefits:
The active ingredient retinaldehyde helps to repair photodamage, improves skin firmness and elasticity and reduces visible lines and wrinkles. This cream also contains hyaluronic acid (HA) fragments. (Unfragmented HA molecules are too big to penetrate the skin - except by needle, I'm afraid!) Thermal spring water and the lipids shea butter, jojoba oil and triglycerides hydrate, sooth and soften dry skin.
.
Warning:
Do not use vitamin A derivatives if you are pregnant or lactating, taking prescription acne medication or undergoing a skin peel regime. Always wear sun protection during the day, when using a vitamin A derivative cream.
