How to use:

• Use in the evening, after cleansing
• Apply to the area around the eyes, starting from the inner corner outwards
• Avoid upper eyelids, if not tolerated here

• Can be repeated in the morning, as tolerated, after cleansing and applying antioxidant serum.
• Make sure to apply sun protection on top, if used in the morning.

Benefits:

Retinaldehyde (or retinal) is the closest vitamin A derivative to tretinoin, the prescripton-only 'gold-standard' of topical anti-ageing treatment. Retinaldehyde is converted directly into the active tretinoin within the skin. To prevent irritation in the delicate eye surrounds, the concentration of retinaldehyde in this product is limited.

If your eye area tolerates regular application of a vitamin A derivative face cream (not a specific eye product), there's no reason why you shouldn't use that (it often contains a higher concentration of actives). Just be careful to introduce application gradually and prevent the product creeping into your eyes. If you have any reactions, stop using it immediately. However, if a face cream containing a vitamin A derivative is too strong for your sensitive eye area (i.e. the skin around your eyes becomes irritated, red, itchy or sore after some days), you could use this special eye product instead, as this is more suitable for more sensitive skin.
